1Shut it yourself
A robot with a camera in your hallway is not a small decision, and we will not write about it as though it were. The first answer is physical: a cover that slides over the lens.

The cover is hardware. Closed, the lens is blocked. That is a different kind of promise from a setting, because you can see it from across the room and nobody can change it from an app.

Privacy mode stops capture from the companion app, for the times the robot is in another room and shutting the cover by hand is not practical.
3Where your data is processed and stored
The commitment is a flat one: UK servers, under UK law, for every byte an Avanti robot produces — camera footage, indoor location, activity patterns and voice interactions alike.
That commitment is designed into the platform: storage and processing pinned to Britain, and the same rule for every kind of record the robot produces.

A map of Great Britain with the data path drawn as a closed loop inside it. The robot reports in, the platform processes and stores, and you read it back — and the loop closes without crossing the coast. That is the whole argument, and it is one a reader can check by looking rather than by trusting.
The coastline is drawn to geography. The route is not: it shows the order things happen in, the way a transit diagram does, and only the processing station is placed where it is because of where it is. We are not going to draw buildings we cannot name.
Who answers when something goes wrong: Avanti Mind Ltd is registered in England and Wales, and is answerable to UK data protection law. Its ICO registration is in the footer, on the register.
4Your rights over your data
UK data protection law gives you rights over what we hold, and we honour them.
There is one exception and it is worth stating plainly. UK law requires businesses to keep billing records for up to seven years for tax purposes. For those records we strip the personal details — name and contact information — and keep only the financial entry the law demands. The full account is in the privacy policy.
